Introduction to MSN & etiquette

MSN Etiquette is the way in which you would behave during conversations on IM, email, or chat rooms. If you were talking to a friend on IM you would act differently than if you were talking to a co-worker for example. There are many different ways of expressing ones self while on msn. The manner in which you think you are performing, may not be how the receiving party may interpret it. This is why it is important to be aware of what msn etiquette is, and how to perform properly while communicating on instant messaging.

Msn is a form of software used for communicating with others by instant messaging. The fashion in which it works is quite simple. You “add” people to your contact list by placing their hotmail or msn email address in to the add feature. You can add as many people as you like, and once you add them you can talk to them. There are features once in your conversation, which allow you to change the font, colour, and size. And there are also cartoon faces, which express emotion. They are called emoticons. You can add these to a conversation by typing the command in the type box, or choosing it from a list of other emoticons.

There are many negatives, and positives to this piece of software, but, like anything, you have to decide whether it is worth the negative aspects.
